If you’re on the fence about getting a new iPhone and feel reluctant to spend the money, it can helpful to understand when it’s actually advisable to invest in a new phone. There are times when tech goodies feel like a splurge, and other times when it makes logical sense to trade in your old devices for new ones. Maybe your phone has been acting wacky lately. Or perhaps you’ve noticed your device doesn’t seem to be compatible with other Apple accessories. Tech Expert Stephen Curry, CEO at CocoSign, has weighed in on this dilemma with three scary signs you need to replace your iPhone.
Compatibility with Chargers and Accessories:
First and foremost: if your expensive iPhone can’t work with any of the other expensive Apple accessories you own, there’s a problem. “Apple changes the designs of their devices accessories occasionally and when a device is incompatible with the latest design of accessories it probably means your phone needs an up-gradation now,” Curry says. “It will be laborious for you to find the old compatible accessories for iPhone than just upgrading the iPhone itself.”
Repairing Gets Costlier Than Buying a New iPhone:
“An old iPhone from a few years back has high repairing costs than the actual cost of the iPhone itself,” Curry says. “Moreover, paying an upfront total repairing cost is much more than buying a new iPhone. Unless you’ve some serious attachment to that iPhone I suggest you should start thinking of changing that iPhone for saving up on increasing repairing costs day by day.”
iOS Updates:
Apple rollout iOS updates regularly and it is in one’s best practice to keep their iPhone updated for security as well as different apps compatibility purposes, according to Curry. “When an iPhone stop getting regular update it probably means your iPhone is too old for the compatibility of the newer version of apps from the Apple App Store, which indicates that it is time that you order yourself a new version of the iPhone,” Curry says.
