This year’s Met Gala red carpet did not disappoint. Stars strutted out styled in all of our favorite designers – Balenciaga, Balmain, Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Tom Ford… all of the top hits were there.
And some A-listers took their high-end looks to the next level: crystal embroidery. As if designer gowns weren’t decadent enough, celebrities have started integrating jewels directly into their fashion.
There’s no doubt that we’ll never be able to afford something quite so lavish – but a girl can dream!
Scroll down to see our two favorite stunners from Monday night’s event, as seen on Kendall Jenner and Zoe Kravitz.
Kendall Jenner's 2021 Met Gala Look
Designed by Givenchy and inspired by the label’s original muse, Audrey Hepburn, Kendall Jenner’s dress puts a sexy twist on timeless glamour. This dress features the same silhouette and neckline as a style made popular by the old Hollywood starlet in 1964’s My Fair Lady, yet this sheer material is something completely new.
Only someone as chic as Kendall could pull something this revealing off so well - and she did it with nothing but a nude-tone bodysuit underneath!
Zoe Kravitz's 2021 Met Gala Look
In a similar fashion, Zoe Kravitz donned a custom-made Saint Laurent gown, made from crystal mesh. Zoe truly bared it all, as under this dress she wore only a matching crystal thong. Of course the actress looked gorgeous as ever!
There were a few other notable mentions of the see-through trend at this year's Met Gala. How could we miss Zooey Deutch in a sparkling lilac gown from Versace, or Julia Garner in Swarovsky-embroidered Stella McCartney? Imaan Hammam wore a semi-sheer dress by Versace, and Halle Bailey wore a sparkly sheer bodysuit from Rodarte. Plus, Emily Blunts crystal-embellished Miu Miu dress featured a sheer skirt!
