While discussing their relationship with Mel Ottenberg for the profile piece, Blanco recalled the very beginning of his romance with the Only Murders in the Building actress. He shared: ” I remember before I was with her, I was like, “You know what? I’m going to stop everything I’m doing and just focus all my energy on being a grownup and being with the right person.””
He continued: “Now I worship the ground she walks on and I feel like she’s the same way to me. There’s no ego between us. She’s praying for me to win and I’m praying for her to win. And I wake up in the morning—I know she does the same thing—and I’m like, “How can I make her life better?””

“Holding her isn’t close enough. I want to be inside of her whole body. I just feel a thing for her that I can’t even explain. I’m so sappy.” The Emilia Pérez star then gushed: “It’s very romantic.” Blanco also notably said: “I’m so scared she’s just going to wake up and be like, “What? No.”” The “Lose You To Love Me” singer then replied: “You’re stuck with me.”
For her part, Gomez revealed, regarding the start of her bond with Blanco: “It was really simple. We got in the studio to work on a song and we just talked; that’s how easy it was for me. I liked him before he liked me.” She noted that she actually knew the music mogul since she was “around 16, 17” before they ever even dated.

Blanco also shared: “When she started putting out music, I was so into it. I feel like she was the original sad girl. I was drawn to it.” Blanco admitted that he was completely unaware of Gomez’s feelings and emotions toward him at first. “We were in the session and I was like, ‘You should meet some of my friends. I can hook you up with some dates.’ I hadn’t thought about it at all,” he said.
He added: “And then we were texting afterwards and we decided to get dinner the next day. I guess she thought it was a date and I had no idea it was a date.” During their second date, he recalled thinking: “‘Wait, does she like me?’ I was clueless.” From that point on, he stressed: “it was easy.”

Blanco gushed: "You know when you think you met the right person, you’re like, ‘Oh my god.’ But it feels so different. The second we started hanging out, I was like, ‘This is my wife.’ I was telling my mom, ‘This is the girl I’m going to marry.’" He sweetly said: “She’s my best friend."
Blanco and Gomez keep winning over fans with their heartfelt public displays of affection and loving tributes to one another. They are preparing to launch their debut collaborative album, I Said I Love You First, which will be available next month.
