Selena Gomez has been very open over the years about how her body has changed as she’s gotten older. After being diagnosed with Lupus in 2014 and getting a kidney transplant in 2017, plus growing up in the public eye, the actress is no stranger to people commenting on her body. Just yesterday, Selena posted on her Instagram stories to shut down the comments once and for all. Keep reading for more information.
Selena Posts About Her Body Transformation
On her Instagram story, Selena first posted a photo from many years ago of her in a zebra-print bikini by the pool. She wrote over the photo: "Today, I realized I will never look like this again...."
She followed it with another photo, a more recent one where she has a fuller figure, wearing a black, high-waisted bikini bottom and a white tankini tube top. She added this caption: "I'm not perfect but I am proud to be who I am.. sometimes I forget it's ok to be me."

Selena Gomez Champions Body Positivity
This is not the first time Selena has spoken out against body shamers, famously saying in a 2022 episode of Selena + Chef, "Honestly, I don't care about my weight because people bitch about it anyway. 'You're too small,' 'you're too big,' 'that doesn't fit.' 'Meh meh meh meh.'"
"B****, I am perfect the way I am," she said. "Moral of the story? Bye."
Selena also has spoken about body positivity through her company Wondermind, a company she started as a way to make other people with mental health struggles feel seen and navigate their feelings. The company's Instagram account posted a photo with Selena's quote from her Instagram story yesterday, which has already generated tons of positive comments from fans.
"We support the right person," one fan wrote. "Love her so so much."
"Selena is beautiful just as she is," another person said. "On the inside and outside."
"We love you so much queen!" said another fan.
