Who is Selena Gomez dating right now? We started wondering about the current state of the 30-year-old Rare Beauty founder’s current love life after her most famous ex Justin Bieber just celebrated his 29th birthday.

Selena has been on our screens and in our hearts since appearing on the children’s television series Barney & Friends between 2002 and 2004, before going on to really rise to stardom when she starred as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place between 2007 and 2012. She is now appearing in Only Murders in the Building alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short, and we adore seeing her back on our screens. But we also love catching up on her personal life too, particularly her dating life!

Who Is Selena Gomez Dating

On January 19th, the "Calm Down" singer posted and then immediately deleted an Instagram Story with "I like being alone too much," written on it. However, fans thought that might have been a calculated move to distract them from the fact that she *could* have just started dating someone new, as just two days later, they were photographed holding hands while leaving dinner at Torrisi Bar & Restaurant in New York City. Who are we referring to?!

Rumor has it that 33-year-old Chainsmokers member Drew Taggart is currently dating the Only Murders in the Building star, with Page Six obtaining exclusive pictures of the pair on a bowling date at The Gutter bowling alley in New York City on January 15th.

A source told Entertainment Tonight on January 18th that the pair "met through mutual friends" and are "dating," but "things are still new." The source added that they had an "instant connection and liked each other as people." And according to an Us Weekly article published on February 1st, Selena and the "Something Just Like This" singer are "very casual and low-key" but are "having a lot of fun together." Us Weekly's source went on to add, "They aren’t trying to hide their romance by sneaking around at members-only clubs," noting that the musicians like to do simpler things such as "bowling" and going "to the movies."

We're already obsessed with this budding new romance! Taggart previously dated Eve Jobs, Steve Jobs' youngest daughter, before moving on with Selena; but who else has Selena dated in the past?

Who Else Has Selena Gomez Dated?

From brief flings to full relationships, as well as one on/off romance with a certain "Peaches" singer, Selena has had quite a few famous exes over the years. Here are just a few of the most stand out ones, in no particular order…

The Weeknd

Selena and The Weeknd – real name Abel Tesfaye – reportedly dated from January 2017 to October 2017. They went Instagram official in January 2017 and made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala in May 2017.

Just one month before they called it quits, Selena told InStyle in September 2017 that she was "really happy" with their relationship, adding, "It’s great. I don’t depend on one area of my life to make me happy. It’s really important for me to love and nourish my friends and family and to make sure that I never get influenced by a guy."

While we don’t know what went on between them and what led to their breakup, the Grammy winner's 2018 EP Dear Melancholy is thought to be about Selena. Explaining the "cathartic" album with Esquire in 2020, The Weeknd said: "The reason why it was so short is like, I think I just had nothing else to say on this… whatever… It was just like this cathartic piece of art. And yeah, it was short, because that’s all I had to say on this situation."

An insider reportedly told Us Weekly in March 2020 that Selena and The Weeknd, who has also dated Bella Hadid and been linked to Angelina Jolie, are "cordial" and she "is a fan of The Weeknd and his music. She has no negative feelings toward him."

Charlie Puth

Selena and Charlie dated briefly in 2016, the same year they collaborated on his song, "We Don’t Talk Anymore." A source told Us Weekly back in March 2016, "It’s not serious, but she’s super into him," while another source said they simply had a "flirty friendship."

However, Charlie hinted two years later that Selena may not have been as into him as he was her, as he told Billboard in 2018 that their relationship was "very short-lived, very small, but very impactful." He went on to say: "It really messed me up. I’m trying to put this the best way possible: It wasn’t like I was the only person on her mind. And I think I knew that going in — what I was getting myself into." Woah!

Niall Horan

Fans thought Selena and the One Direction member were dating after they were spotted together in December 2015, including at Jenna Dewan’s 35th birthday party.

"Niall and Selena were seen kissing in the middle of the club, in front of everyone," a source told Us Weekly at the time. "Niall and Selena definitely seemed very close and like they were together. Niall got there first with his bodyguard, then the next thing I know, I looked over and Selena was there. They were very close together, talking and whispering." The insider added that the pair "left together," and Selena "grabbed his arm on the way out and held onto it."

The rumored romance was pretty short-lived, but they were linked again in 2019, which then led Niall to declare that he was "very much single." He said: "Do I have a girlfriend? I don’t, no. I’m very much single, very much single. If I am seeing someone, if they’re just a friend of mine, [people think] I’m going out with them. That’s the most annoying part, isn’t it really? I can’t even be friends with a female."

Zedd

Selena and Zedd dated between January to March in 2015 after they collaborated on his song, "I Want You To Know," with Selena confirming their relationship (after it had come to an end) to New Zealand’s The Edge Afternoons in June 2015. "I adore Zedd a lot and I definitely had a thing with him, which was nice," she said at the time. It wasn’t until their relationship came to an end that the DJ got candid about their time together, as he opened up about it to Billboard in August 2017.

"People were hacking my friends' phones," he confessed. "I kind of knew what I was getting myself into. She is one of the most talked about people in the world, but I had no idea how much that would change my life."

Justin Bieber

Justin and Selena – dubbed Jelena by all their fans who shipped them as a couple – have had quite the on/off relationship over the years. They first sparked dating rumors when they were spotted eating pancakes at IHOP in 2010 and despite trying to hide their romance at first, confirmed their relationship in February 2011. They split in November 2012 before getting back together in April 2013.

They were spotted kissing at the Billboard Music Awards in May 2013, but their on/off relationship was then very off in April 2014 when they reportedly had a fight at Coachella after Selena allegedly found photos of Kylie Jenner on the "Sorry" singer's phone. Yikes! They then had several more on/off moments, with Selena seemingly dating the "Stay" singer soon after ending things with The Weeknd.

They reconciled for the last time in November 2017 and ended things in March 2018, with the "Yummy" singer then going on to date and ultimately marry Hailey Baldwin (now Hailey Bieber) in September 2018. Selena's 2020 album, Rare, featured several songs about their relationship and break-up, including the single, "Lose You to Love Me."

Taylor Lautner

Selena and Taylor very briefly dated back in 2009 – before he started dating Taylor Swift, may we add – after they met while she was filming Ramona and Beezus and he was filming Twilight: New Moon; but the paparazzi attention made it too hard!

"We would go out to lunch and dinner, but I knew he had paparazzi following him and I had paparazzi following me," Selena confessed in an interview with Seventeen. "So we literally just wanted to hang out, go bowling and stuff, and it went a little too far, I think. People were getting a little crazy about us."

Nick Jonas

Way, way, way before he dated Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas briefly dated Selena Gomez! Nick and Selena dated way back in 2008, with Selena recalling their relationship in an interview with Capital FM in 2015.

"We were babies," Selena said. "That, to me, was like puppy love, you know. It was very sweet." Fans may also remember that Selena played Nick's love interest in the Jonas Brothers' music video for the song "Burnin' Up," which we think is also very sweet.
