Selena Gomez is admitting that she once felt “hopeless” amid her mental health struggle.
The “Boyfriend” singer also revealed that she’s “stronger” now (we are so relieved!) after getting help, in a series of interviews promoting her Rare Beauty line. Here’s everything we know about Selena’s intimate confessions:

Selena has opened up about her mental health struggles again in new interviews that were just released.
The former Disney Channel star told People magazine of her struggles, “As far as my career, I’m professional and I work very hard. At the same time, I do deal with mental health [issues] and I wanted that to also be known,” Wow she is so brave for opening up.

"In the beginning it seemed hopeless," she admitted in the interview. "Sometimes it was a challenge for me to even get out of bed,” she explained. “The one thing I’ve never stopped doing is asking for help." And we're so grateful for that!
"That was the hardest part, but I truly believe that that’s why I’m stronger," she continued. "This is something that is the most important thing in the world to me ’cause it’s my mental health.”

Selena has also opened up about how she wants to promote self-acceptance with her beauty line.
“It’s something that I wanted to be much bigger than makeup, because I fully believe that it’s your mind and it’s your body and it’s your soul," she told Bustle. "The relationship with you and your makeup should be healthy and should be fun and should be, in some cases, I’ve found, therapeutic."

Well that sounds like a good excuse as any to go on a makeup spree (as if we needed one)! We also applaud Selena for starting the Rare Impact Fund earlier this year, which has committed to raising $100 million in the next 10 years to help underserved communities get mental health treatment.
