All eyes were on the radiant Serena Williams during Kendrick Lamar‘s Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show this week. The tennis legend, 43, made a surprise cameo during Lamar’s performance of his Grammy-winning hit, “Not Like Us.” Williams, who recently opened up about her “intense” 35-lb weight loss and health transformation, performed the crip walk dance at the show, made famous by the Los Angeles Crips from her and Lamar’s hometown of Compton, California.
The mom of two (who shares daughters Olympia, 7, and Adira, 1, with her husband Alexis Ohanian) showed off the results of her “crazy” workouts during the performance, highlighting her trim physique and sculpted legs. She donned a blue cardigan, matching tennis skirt, white tank and classic Converse sneakers.

Serena Williams Shows Off 35-Lb Transformation at the Super Bowl After Calling Her Weight Loss Journey ‘Intense’
This comes after she previously highlighted her weight loss milestones in video posts on social media. Back in December 2024, the athlete and style icon posted an Instagram video of herself wearing a form-fitting denim maxi skirt.
Williams, as fans know, has been sharing her transformation since the birth of her second daughter in August 2023. From the outset, she expressed that one of her goals was to fit into the Valentino denim maxi skirt she purchased while pregnant. A little over one month ago, Williams proudly revealed to her followers that she had achieved this goal, posting the clip of herself in the item.

The Grand Slam champion captioned her December 30th post: “The “Jean Skirt” finale.” In the clip, she said: “I have an audience today for this big moment of will it or will it not fit.” As she began to undo the buttons of her skirt, she mentioned with emphasis that it had been tight the previous time she tried to fit into it. While successfully raising one side of the skirt to her waist, she remarked that it already felt more comfortable.

After successfully pulling the waistband over her hips and fastening the button and zipper, Williams looked at herself in the mirror. She even bent down as her friend suggested to “drop it like it’s hot.” She revealed: “It just fits. An ounce more, it wouldn’t. I need to give myself credit.” Williams kicked off her try-on mini-series in January 2024 and kept her fans in the loop with periodic updates.

In October of last year, Williams proudly showcased her achievement on TikTok while wearing a wrap dress. "So I used to not be able to fit this dress at all, like I literally couldn't even close it," she said at the time. She continued: "It would come like here and I physically couldn't close it. So now, not only can I close it, it almost comes too far over. So I'm really excited."

Williams added: "I've been training a lot. I've been running. I'm training for a 5k, then I'm going to do a 10k and then I want to do a half-marathon. So it's really paying off and I really like this dress just for a cosy day at home, right? So fun." She also noted in the caption: "I have been on an intense weight, loss journey, and working out like crazy."

As for her advice to fans who want to emulate her impressive figure? Williams shared: "Keep going, if you're working out, you can do it too. If I can do it, you can do it, you're way better than me." She also told her devotees: "I wake up at five to get to the gym and it's finally starting to pay off. Life is a journey so is weight loss, not a destination. If you're on the same journey, I'm wishing you well."
