Gone are the days of boring, overly modest one-piece swimsuits. They went out the window when people stopped thinking of them as a means for covering up or hiding their shape. Body positivity and inclusive fashion has brought us so many things–and the sexy one-piece trend is one of them! It’s old news to think that if you are older than a certain age or bigger than a certain dress size you *have* to wear one. Thanks to brands like lovewave, Dev Windsor Swim and Melissa Simone, you can feel your sexiest and even show off more skin than you would in a bikini. We are living for the shift from one-piecing being “boring,” to them being flattering and fun, and just generally having so many options that you can still look and feel your sexiest in. Flaunt your best asset–whether it be your cleavage in one of the plunging styles, your hips in a high-cut 80s silhouette, buns in one of the many ‘wedgie’ or thong styles. There are so many options! Plus, more and more celebrities of every age and body type are starting to choose them over bikinis. From Bella Hadid‘s recent zigzag monokini on Instagram, to Kristin Cavallari‘s sexy string-back number from a recent trip to Cabo San Lucas, stars are proving that the one-piece is the sexiest thing you can wear at the beah. Our editors did a major deep dive on the spring’s best styles, and without further ado, here are the trendiest one-piece bathing suit styles to snatch up before summer 2021 even begins. Trust us–you won’t regret adding one or two of these cheeky suit styles to the mix:

ZigZag One Piece

This one-shoulder one-piece suit style typically features a bandeau top and zigzag straps across the body. We’re not saying the tan lines aren’t awkward–but the sexy stares you’ll get at the pool will be worth it. Bella Hadid recently rocked the Zara One Piece from Melissa Simone, and we are so obsessed. Hurry–it’s (somehow) still in stock in most sizes.

Belted One Piece

Adding a belt to your swimsuit elevates the style, cinches the waist and makes your beach look anything but boring. When these first came on the scene, we were skeptical, but they’ve totally grown on us. Dev Windsor’s namesake swim brand manes a great, size-inclusive one called the Oaklee. We love the low-cut neckline, and skintone flattering white hue:

Floss One Piece

The strappy, stringy ‘floss’ swim trend isn’t just for two-pieces–as modeled by Kristin Cavallari in a Lovewave one-piece that is now sold out. These suits may be terrible for tan lines, but what they lack in practicality, they make up for in sex appeal.

V-Neck One Piece

Alessandra Ambrosio modeled that ‘Yantra’ one-piece suit from her own Gal Floripa line that is so flattering on the neckline! These actually make your boobs look bigger, and are a universally flattering style for women. We love the simplicity, too.
