Shake Shack is our go-to fast food joint because of its delicious food and hospitable staff. Now, their service is going to get even more efficient, thanks to Shake Shack's newest virtual employees. Yup, a robot will be taking your order from now on!

Well, they're not real robots... Shake Shack will be replacing its cashiers with touch-screen kiosks that will allow customers to place their orders and pay using a credit card. Diners will also be able to order their favorite menu items via the restaurant's app on their smartphones and tablets. Interesting...
This new feature is being tested at its new Astor Place branch and it looks like it could be sticking around.

“The Astor Place Shack will be a playground where we can test and learn the ever-shifting needs of our guests,” Shake Shack CEO Randy Garutti said, according to the New York Post. “[It] represents our dedication to innovation and to providing the best for our guests and for our teams. We’re excited to lead with kiosk-only ordering, putting control of the Shake Shack experience in our guests’ hands, and an optimized kitchen with increased capacity for mobile orders and eventual delivery integration to support ongoing digital innovation.”
If you're not tech savvy, don't fret, there will be resident “hospitality champs," Shake Shack employees, on-hand to guide guide diners through possible tech glitches while placing orders at the kiosks.
Shake Shack will also be replacing its buzzers with text message alerts to let customers know when they're food is ready. This new notification model allows customers to roam outside the restaurant while waiting for their food. Talk about some serious changes!
