It’s hard out here right now for fans of Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. Ever since J.Lo’s documentary Halftime debuted, fans of either pop superstar are feuding on Twitter and elsewhere. In the film, clips show the “On The Floor” singer, 52, preparing for her 2020 Super-Bowl halftime show (that she co-headlined with the “Hips Don’t Lie” hitmaker, 45). Lopez in one scene, is quoted saying, “This is the worst idea in the world to have two people do the Super-Bowl … worst idea in the world.” And this—fans are noting—is where the fighting and debating over Lopez’s words began.

In other scenes, Lopez is described as having several qualms with Shakira herself, since the Colombian singer wanted to have a balance of both artists’ songs in their performance, as suggested by the NFL. In response to this, TMZ reports, Lopez reportedly says, “If it was going to be a double-headliner, they should have given us 20 minutes. That’s what they should’ve f—ing done.” Lopez’s manager Benny Medina at one point says in the film, “It was an insult to think that you needed two Latinas to do the job that one artist historically has done.”

Fans of Shakira continue to share memes on Twitter calling out Lopez and making timelines of the accolades, awards and global record sales that the former has over the latter. Others seem to wonder if this rift between the singers was just an isolated incident of the past, while many are convinced that the two still to this day don’t get along. With that said, here is a round-up of the funniest, wittiest (and most brutal) tweets we’ve seen Shakira fans tweet in the days since Halftime premiered at Tribeca:

And as for fans of both artists who really don’t want to pick a side, there are plenty of tweets calling for that, too:

Ultimately, whether J.Lo meant to throw shade at Shakira or not, we do have to agree that both artists deserve ample time to perform their impressive and varied discographies live!
