Shakira kicked off her highly-anticipated Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour at the Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on February 11th. However, just a few days later, she was forced to cancel one of her shows in Lima, Peru due to being hospitalized with an “abdominal issue.”
The 48-year-old Grammy winner was due to perform in Lima for the first time in over ten years a few nights ago, but was forced to cancel after experiencing “an abdominal issue.” The Colombian singer let her fans know on Sunday, February 16th that she wasn’t able to perform later that night due to her hospitalization, but informed them that she was hoping to make the second night’s performance in Peru the following day.
And she did indeed stick to her word, as her Monday, February 17th show went ahead as scheduled.


Shakira Tells Fans That She Had To Cancel Her Show In Peru Due To Hospitalization
The "Soltera" singer took to social media on Sunday, February 16th to let her fans know that she would be canceling her show at the last minute, as well as telling them the reason why.
"I'm sorry to let you all know that last night I had to go to the emergency room for an abdominal issue and I'm currently hospitalized," the "Hips Don't Lie" hitmaker wrote on Instagram and X.

"The doctors taking care of me have let me know that I'm not well enough to perform tonight," the "El Jefe" singer continued, adding: "I am very sad that I will not be able to take the stage today. I have been deeply emotional and excited about reuniting with my beloved Peruvian audience."
"I hope to be better by tomorrow and that they release me from the hospital as soon as possible to be able to put on the show that I've prepared for you all," the ageless performer concluded.
