Shania Twain delivered a masterclass in blending Barbiecore with mermaid-inspired fashion!

The country music icon commanded attention on the red carpet for the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards on Thursday, September 26 at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. She shined in a bedazzled mermaid-style floor-length denim gown that was decorated with intricate details.

The blue dress featured a collared halterneck (trend alert!) and opera gloves that gave the denim ensemble a regal vibe.

What was equally eye-catching was her vintage Barbie-inspired hairdo! The "I Ain't No Quitter" hitmaker sported a blonde lob that was reminiscent of the ‘60s and gave her hair mega volume while being flipped out at the ends.

While the host of the night looked fabulous, some fans could hardly recognize her!

Users quickly took to Instagram to express their confusion and call out her "new face."

"If you hadn't put the name, I would have no idea who this was," said one user.

Another person wrote, "I’ll never understand why the beautiful Shania Twain went under the knife. Make it make sense."

"I miss her old face, not her new face," expressed another fan, while one person commented, "Too much plastic surgery/botox."

Shania Talks About The Process Of Her Denim Dress For The Red Carpet

While Shania has been the subject of plastic surgery rumors for quite a while now, she seemed joyous and excited to be hosting the night.

In an exclusive interview with E! News, the Canadian native was asked about the process of making her denim gown. "Isn't it crazy? I love it. I was involved with the sketches and the design and the silhouette and everything. To me, that's the joy. It's not about putting on something that's amazing—it's about being part of it."

She had also told Billboard before the ceremony how she feels so honored to be hosting the 2024 award show, stating, "It’s a really full-circle experience for me. It takes me back to my own beginnings in Nashville and as a new recording artist there, and obviously the historic location is always appealing. I meet new artists, and I’m running into old friends, making new friends."
