You’ve heard from friends who have been hacked that it can be a nightmare. You’ve taken as many steps as possible to protect your phone from getting hacked. But, at the end of the day, how can you tell if your device has actually been compromised or if you’re walking around with a phone that has been hacked and is continuing to steal and use your data? The answer may be as simple as being aware of these five signs to look for if your iPhone has been hacked. Tech Expert Miranda Yan, founder of VinPit, reminds SHEFinds.com readers that the key to handling a hack is first knowing that these signs may occur.
*Abrupt drainage of battery life
“Suppose you find that your battery life is coming down too quickly, and you need to charge it frequently,” Yan says. “Then it a possible sign that something is wrong with your phone.”
*Phone is Going Haywire
“If your phone is acting weird, showing unusual signs like automatic launching of apps or sudden crashes,” Yan says. “Also, if you are receiving strange messages and notifications from unknown sources, then it's time to act quickly.”
*Sudden Noise
“Though this is rare, it is not impossible — if you see your graphics failing, sudden noise, electronic distortion, and static and echoing noises, then these are the signs of a possible hack,” Yan says.
*Increased Data consumption
“If you suspect that your phone is hacked, then check for data consumption,” Yan says. “If you find your phone is taking more data than usual, it's because of hidden software running on your iPhone and delivering information to third parties.”
