Simon Cowell has had a tough time of it this year! Not only was he hospitalized following a crash on his electric bicycle last month, which left him with a broken arm, but the 62-year-old America’s Got Talent judge has now also tested positive for COVID- 19! 2022 is not getting off to the best start for him, we must say!

The timing of Cowell’s positive test couldn’t have been worse, as it means that he will have to miss the latest Britain’s Got Talent auditions, which he is currently filming in London alongside fellow judges Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden. “Simon was unable to attend filming today as he was isolating at home after testing positive for COVID-19,” a spokesperson said.

Fellow BGT judge, Holden, said that despite testing positive, Cowell was doing okay, but joked that he was "milking it" during an interview with Ashley Roberts on Heart FM. "He's not feeling ill but I tell you what, he's got Lauren running up and down stairs for him. She's running baths and flipping chopping lemons. I'm like 'flipping heck!', he's milking it!'" Holden said, before speculating where he might have contracted the virus. "Now, I have to say, I think he's been very lucky because obviously this has been going on for nearly two years now and Simon's never, ever had it. Maybe he picked it up when he had his arm put in plaster, because he had to go to hospital for that. So maybe that's when he picked it up," she added.

Cowell started the year on a high, having gotten engaged to long-term girlfriend Lauren Silverman on Christmas Eve in Barbados, where they first met. The Syco Productions founder and the 44-year-old former socialite are proud parents to son Eric Cowell, who turned eight on Valentine's Day this year, as well as Lauren's 16-year-old son Adam from her first marriage to entrepreneur, Andrew Silverman. Get well soon, Simon!
