Simon Cowell Says Cutting Out Certain Foods Helped Him Achieve His 60-Lb Weight Loss
The 65-yeaar-old America's Got Talent judge has opened up about his weight loss, which is believed to be 60 lbs., on several occasions over the past few years; and we are listening intently!
Rather than going down the weight loss injections route that so many celebs are currently going down (whether they admit to it or not) Cowell said it was all down to diet. Specifically, cutting out a few things from his diet!
According to a 2019 article in The Mirror, Cowell initially dropped 20 lbs. by adopting a predominantly vegan diet. In April 2022, Cowell spoke to The Sun about how his weight loss was then down to a new re-evaluated diet, which saw him cut out dairy, sugar, bread (and all gluten!) and red meat. "Cutting all that out is what has made a difference, genuinely," he said at the time.
Cowell also told The Sun at the time: "The most dramatic period was the first month where most of the weight comes off and you look at yourself and think 'wow.'"
The father-of-one also said that his busy work schedule meant that he used to rely on fast food and generally unhealthy foods, and he "used to binge on sausage rolls, hamburgers and [his] favorite jam tarts made by [his] personal chefs." However, he was able to "drop four waist sizes" by cutting out those foods. And it certainly shows!
Simon Cowell Also Cut Down His Alcohol Intake Too
As well as cutting out those things from his diet, Cowell also limited his alcohol intake as per the advice of his doctor, and previously told Extra TV: "My first thought was 'what about the alcohol?' The doctor said, 'Maybe not quite as much as you had before' and I've stuck to it and it's easy."
So what does Cowell eat now to maintain his trim figure? According to The Express, Cowell is still seemingly cutting out he foods we mentioned above, and regularly eats white meat such as chicken and turkey, as well as lots of salad and vegetables. Sounds like a very healthy diet, and judging by recent pictures of him, it still seems to be working!
