Don't Forget Sunscreen--Even When Indoors

Dr. Joshua Zeichner, Director of Cosmetic and Clinical Research at the Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital, stresses the importance of wearing sunscreen. He explains, "Even if you are inside, you are not off the hook on your sunscreen. UVA light can penetrate right thorough window glass."

That's not all. Your electronic devices could also be contributing to premature aging. Zeichner explains, "Our electronic devices emit HEV light, which is light in the blue spectrum, which can contribute to premature aging." With that in mind, sticking to mineral blockers like zinc oxide is a good way to protect your skin from both UVA light and HEV light.

Zeichner continues, "I recommend mineral blockers during this time because they both give broad spectrum protection, but also may help your skin from HEV light damage." He recommends Solara Suncare Time Traveler for this type of protection.

Moisturize Your Hands

Zeichner also reminds everyone to moisturize their hands while in quarantine. He explains, "Over washing to protect ourselves from the virus may lead to crack in the outer skin layer. We can't stop washing, but we can help make up for the damage it may leave behind."

Zeichner suggests: "Stick to ointment based hand moisturizers that form a protective seal over the skin to keep hydrating in and infectious microorganisms out."

He recommends Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream for protecting your hands without making them greasy or sticky.
