Starbucks Just Made This Huge Change To Their Rewards For Covid–Customers Are FURIOUS!

As if 2020 couldn’t get any worse, Starbucks has suspended their “Happy Hour” discounts due to Covid-19!

The company announced internally, Reuters reports, that it would be ending its two-for-one deals due to overcrowding concerns amid the deadly third wave of the virus.

Starbucks Corporation customers will just have to pay full price for that Vanilla Bean Frappuccino; the store has canceled planned Happy Hour events scheduled for December 17th and January 7th, according to internal memos to employees posted within Starbucks' restaurant locations.

If you recall, last December the country's largest coffee chain held the promotional events each week. Count this under things that Covid-19 has taken away from us!

“Partner care and safety remains the top priority,” the note said. “However, with the anticipated rise in cases as a result of holiday travel and the latest guidance from the scientific community to not gather indoors in large groups for a prolonged period of time, we feel it is best to pause Happy Hours.”

President of U.S. and Canada retail Rossann Williams originally alerted employees of the Happy Hour pause on December 1.

She told employees earlier this month that they shared a responsibility to “protect each other, our customers and our business as we navigate this pandemic.” Talk about corporate responsibility!

The Seattle-based company introduced Happy Hours in October 2019 as a way to boost sales. The afternoon and evening events (2 to 7pm) would boost foot traffic into the stores. But now that the nation is facing an unprecedented surge of Covid deaths, extra foot traffic is exactly what they don't want.

The company also restricted their loyalty Double-Star Days earlier this year as local government restrictions dictated shutting down dining rooms and limiting restaurant capacities.

The spokeswoman said the company would re-asses Happy Hours in early January.
