Starbucks Strawberry Merry Cream Frappuccino
When you think of red, holiday-flavored drinks, peppermint (shoutout to the Peppermint Frosty!), candy cane, or even cranberry are likely some of the first things that comes to mind. But Starbucks Japan is shaking things up with a fruity flavor instead. That's right: although you may not frequently associate strawberry with winter, this red-and-white beverage is sure to get you into the spirit.
Starbucks customers in Japan will be able to enjoy the Strawberry Merry Cream Frappuccino, which combines strawberry sauce with a vanilla base and a mascarpone whipped cream (a.k.a. "Merry Cream"). Sounds dreamy!
Strawberry Merry Cream Tea Latte
Does a Frappuccino sound too cold for the winter? Luckily, Starbucks has an option for anyone who likes their drinks hot, too. That's the Strawberry Merry Cream Tea Latte. This beverage uses similar flavors from the Frappuccino: it takes the strawberry syrup and Merry Cream and adds it to delicious Early Grey tea. As an added bonus, there's also some chocolate syrup and strawberry juice to top it all off. Yum! Customers and Japan can get this drink hot or iced.
U.S. Fans 'Moving To Japan' To Taste These Drinks
@junkfoodonthego, an Instagram account dedicated to documenting some of the latest drinks and snacks, recently shared this news with their followers. Understandably, Starbucks lovers in the United States are upset over the fact that these new Starbucks drinks are only available in Japan.
"I officially hate the U.S.," one wrote, with another echoing: "We can never have nice things in the U.S. I hate it here."
"WHY NOT IM AMERICA," someone else wrote.
But have no fear! One commenter pointed out that "this looks pretty simple to recreate at home if you live outside of Japan."
Another commenter shared this sentiment: "Smashing creative beverage, a mix of 'London Fog' (Earl grey tea, vanilla and steam milk) and strawberries makes this a delightful festive drink. I may not be in Japan, but it doesn't hurt to give it a try at home for myself... This'll make a great Christmas beverage treat this year." Sounds perfect!
But of course, there's always another solution, as someone else pointed out: "I'm moving to Japan. Anyone want to come with?"
