One of our favorite things about the return of fall is the return of seasonal items at our favorite coffee shops. And when it comes to cozy fall offerings, it’s hard to compete with Starbucks. After all, who doesn’t look forward to a delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte every year? (Despite the health effects.)
There’s certainly a lot to look forward to this fall. On top of the beloved PSL, Starbucks is also rolling out a new Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato and Shaked Espresso, an Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte, and (our favorite) the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. In the baked goods department, we’ve got the return of the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin and a brand-new item: the Baked Apple Croissant.
However, customers recently noticed one thing missing from this seasonal menu: the Pumpkin Scone they look forward to every year.
Where's the Pumpkin Scone?
If your favorite item has ever been taken off a menu (like these McDonald's bakery items), you may feel the pain of everyone who was waiting expectantly for the beloved Pumpkin Scone to make its return at Starbucks. Unfortunately, though, many were disappointed when it was cut from the lineup this year. This sweet treat was just about exactly what it sounds like: a spiced pumpkin scone with icing. Simple, sweet, and perfect for fall. So, it's no wonder people are up in arms over its disappearance.

In a recent Instagram post, the company announced that they're "Reentering their pumpkin era," but when people noticed this precious scone missing, they weren't too happy.
"WHERE THE HECK IS MY PUMPKIN SCONE???" one fan commented.
"What happened to the pumpkin scone?" another echoed.
One commenter went as far to say the pumpkin scone was "the only thing worth waiting for."
"Bring back the pumpkin scone!!" they demanded. "Nobody wants a weird muffin or croissant!"
However, if you are willing to give the new Baked Apple Croissant a try, it seems like it could be your next best bet, after the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin.
While the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin features sweet cream cheese filling inside and spiced pepitas on top, the Baked Apple Croissant is made of crispy croissant layers and filled with a warm apple filling. Although neither is the Pumpkin Scone, perhaps one could fill the hole it left in your heart.
Meanwhile, maybe you could try a Pumpkin Spice Frosty from Wendy's to get your pumpkin fix.
