Starbucks Is Making The Most Insane Changes To Their Stores–We Can’t Believe It!

Not only is the coffee chain launching oatmilk in all stores this spring (as well as new menu items such as a Shaken Iced Espresso with brown sugar and oatmilk!), but the company is also launching a "string of walk-thru locations that don't include seating."

The company's CEO Kevin Johnson revealed last month that the new stores--called "Starbucks Pickup"--would be opened in major cities. These walk-thru stores are the urban equivalent of suburban drive-thrus, which we all know were a major game changer!

“What we’re trying to do is build the equivalent of a drive-thru in a dense metropolitan area, which I think of as a walk-thru,” Johnson told Reuters ahead of the biennial investor day.

How it works: customers will pre-order their drinks using the Starbucks app, paying for their order in advance. That way, when they walk-thru the store they can simply retrieve their purchases at the designated are and move on. Foot traffic will be pretty quick.
