If you’re receiving annoying personalized ads on your iPhone, the reasons behind it include the fact that Apple and its ad developers collect a great amount of your data and use this to direct ads your way. As Apple tracks your interactions with apps, services you use, and websites you frequent, it learns a great deal about your likes and needs. Something like your location data can let Apple know where you work, shop, or how many times a week you go to the gym. And access to your search history clues Apple into what you may want to purchase in the future.

Apple uses this information to send you targeted ads because it feels these can be relevant to you. Apple’s Advertising system delivers these ads via its Apple platforms, the App Store, and more.

So, what can you do about it if this “annoying” to you? Actually, you have options:

As The Tech Desk informs us, there’s a specific setting that you can disable to make a big difference in the number of personalized ads you receive. Here’s what you need to know.

Turn off Personalized Ads

There’s an Apple setting that may be automatically enabled on your phone and is the reason you keep receiving personalized ads. To turn off this setting, go to Settings > Privacy > Apple Advertising > Personalized Ads.

Stop Apps From Tracking You

Another step you can take is to stop apps from tracking you and retain more of your privacy. Go to privacy settings and then tap Tracking. Toggle off Allow Apps to Request to Track.
