When it’s 97 degrees outside and the sun is beating down, the last thing we want to do is slip on a pair of…jeans. Yuck. In the summertime, jeans are the absolute last thing on our mind. However, even though we would all rather be in a bathing suit at the beach, sometimes that’s just not an option.

I don’t know about you, but I grew up thinking jeans were considered fall and winter clothing. Denim shorts were the only acceptable style of bottoms for the summer. Nobody informed me that when I grew up, jeans would have to become year-round attire because shorts just aren’t appropriate for work. So lame.

As we enter July and the hottest months of summer yet, we’re looking for new pants trends to put our jeans to rest–until Fall rolls back around, that is.

Here are four new pant styles to rock this summer for when you just can’t even bear the idea of wearing another pair of denim jeans with the weather being over 65 degrees.

Non-Denim Pants Trends For Summer

1. Paperbag Waist Pants

Possibly the newest bottoms obsession of the fashion world, paperbag waist pants (and also shorts) are a classier alternative to regular old trousers and dress pants. Plus they’re far comfier.

2. Linen Pants

Linen anything is perfect for summer because it’s super breathable and lightweight, so you’ll stay cool all day long. Linen pants can be dressed up or down, making them a great work pant alternative.

3. Wide Leg Jersey Pants

Wide leg jeans are trendy right now, so naturally wide leg jersey pants are also in. Since this pant trend is so simple, you can pair it with almost anything and it will look cute.

4. Crêped Culottes

Creped Culottes are made of a woven crêped fabric and an elastic waistband, so it doesn’t get much more comfortable than that. This pant style is usually slightly shorter in length meaning you get to show off your favorite pair of summer sandals.
