Supplements are everywhere these days, each promising quick results for everything from weight loss to better digestion. But while some supplements can be genuinely beneficial, others fall short of their claims, leading health experts to warn consumers about wasting money on certain products.
One prime example is apple cider vinegar (ACV) pills; although ACV is known for its health benefits in liquid form, experts suggest pill versions may not deliver the same effects. Many people also argue that ACV supplements are more hype than help, lacking the real vinegar content you need for health benefits.

TikTok creator @ketocoachbre, who has over 180K followers on the app, recently shared a video explaining why “you should never waste your money” on pills such as ACV and other supplements as well. Read on to discover her full list!
ACV pills
Bre admits that at one point she fell "victim" to ACV pills but realized that you absolutely don't need them.
"They do not do anything for you. They're literally a placebo effect," she says. "I drank apple cider vinegar for a month [straight] and I didn't notice a difference. Same with the pills that I took; literally didn't notice a difference. It was just a waste of money."
Keto meal replacement shakes
"Any keto meal replacement shakes, you do not need them," she reveals. She suggests eating "just normal food" and that there are numerous ways to make a protein shake that's filled with healthy fats instead of "processed powder that you're just taking because it says it's going to help you lose weight."
Many keto shakes contain artificial sweeteners and additives, which can disrupt gut health and lead to digestive discomfort. Although they are high in fats and protein, they lack other necessary nutrients and shouldn't replace a nutrient-dense meal.
Keto gummies
Gummies have been taking the health industry by storm for their convenience and candy-like flavors, but be careful with these as they may not deliver the results it promises!
"I didn't even know these existed until a few months ago. These will not make you lose weight; they will not get you into ketosis; your body will do it all on its own," she notes.
Bre once again suggests sticking to eating real food because there's no "quick fix" or easy way out.
The bottom line
In conclusion, while supplements and quick fixes can be tempting, relying on nutrient-rich foods is a healthier and more effective approach for long-term wellness and weight management. Consider adding natural, whole-food alternatives that don’t contain a bunch of unnecessary ingredients you probably can’t even recognize.
For example, try adding small amounts of liquid ACV into salad dressings or morning shots, and blend your own shakes with ingredients such as unsweetened almond milk, avocado, and quality protein powder.
