Lady Gaga thrilled her fans last week with a dynamic and captivating new single titled “Disease,” accompanied by a hauntingly artistic music video where she undergoes a striking transformation.

Meanwhile, Dr. Joel Kopelman, a facial plastic surgeon based in New York City, offered his expert insights in a new YouTube video, as reported by The Daily Mail.

He examined the evolution of the pop icon’s appearance through photos taken over the years, suggesting various cosmetic procedures that may have subtly enhanced her already stunning looks.

A Plastic Surgeon Analyzes Lady Gaga's Stunning Transformation And Rumored Procedures

The "Bad Romance" hitmaker (real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta), 38, might've pursued a controversial non-surgical procedure to tighten her skin, Kopelman said, noting he didn't find it to be "worth the risks." Reflecting on Gaga's journey of transformation over the past twenty years, the medical professional examined a pic of the Haus Labs mogul from 2004, when she was just 18.

He said Gaga had "asymmetry in her left upper eyelid compared to the right" and "fullness" at the tip of her nose. Around 2010 when the "Love Game" singer was 24,  Kopelman said she started "to look different." He suspected that the House of Gucci actress had a rhinoplasty procedure, as her nose "looks more narrow" and "there is more highlight at the nasal tip."

The doctor went on: "In addition, her lips look fuller and she's probably using some fillers to fill in and augment her lips." When he compared photos of her face from just a year later in 2011, at the age of 25, he observed that she appeared "markedly different." Kopelman also noted that Gaga's upturned eyelids might be the result of a lateral canthoplasty, a procedure designed to lift the eyes.

Alternatively, he suggested that the effect could have been achieved using PDO threads, which are inserted beneath the skin to tighten and elevate loose or sagging areas. "This is generally a very temporary procedure that has I believe significant risk associated with it because it's very temporary and I don't believe it's worth the risks," he stressed.

By 2012, Dr. Kopelman noted that the photos of Gaga suggested the PDO threads had either worn off or been removed. According to the doctor, her youthful appearance at the age of 29 in 2015 might be attributed to lip fillers and the removal of buccal fat, which could have contributed to the hollowing of her cheeks.

"She's used makeup in the past to create this hollowing but now I think there is a structural change," the surgeon said. He continued: "However, with time some people do not look better. They actually look older, so you have to approach those procedures with a lot of caution."

In 2018, it's probable that Gaga underwent eyelid surgery, according to the doctor who reviewed her photos, citing the newfound symmetry between her eyelids. However, he observed that her lips lack even fullness, implying that her lip filler injections were unevenly administered. In 2023, more recent pics of the "Judas" artist showed "deflation of the issue below her eyebrow" due to "tissue volume shrinking," Kopelman said.

He also thought there was "an upwards sweep to her lower eyelids," suggesting that the A Star is Born actress "may have gone back to PDO threads." He concluded: "By 2024, she looks much more conservative. She's starting to emphasise her talents as an actress instead of her imagery and persona as a performer." Gaga has yet to address these fresh plastic surgery rumors and speculation.
