Taco Bell Accused Of ‘Scamming’ Their Vegetarian Customers On Reddit: ‘A Veggie Box Is $2.49 More Than A Regular Box’

Taco Bell, a fast-food chain once known for its variety of affordable menu options, has recently come under fire on Reddit for allegedly overcharging its vegetarian customers. This complaint comes in addition to a surplus of recent complaints regarding fast food inflation, as well as multiple lawsuits alleging discrimination against vegetarian consumers.
One Taco Bell customer recently sparked conversation with a post highlighting the difference between the price of vegetarian boxes and those containing meat—but comments were quick to point out that these discrepancies vary by location. Find all of the details below.
“They’re scamming their box deals look out… Just don’t get the pre-made boxes they’re trying to sell you,” a post in the Taco Bell subreddit reads.
The post includes a photo comparison of Taco Bell’s “Build Your Own Craving Box” priced at $6.09 and the “Veggie Build Your Own Craving Box” priced at $8.58. The caption reads, “Look at this scam. A veggie box is $2.49 more than a regular box. So if you just swap out beef for black beans on the regular box it’ll be the exact same meal but $2.49 cheaper. They’re scammin vegetarians y’all!”
One commenter expressed their disappointment, stating, “I feel like tb used to cater to vegetarians, at least more than they do now. Sad since more meatless eaters than ever before… if we want a decent veggie burrito we have to do mad customizations that will never be prepared correctly, since they get dinged by corporate for taking an extra 10 seconds to make an item.”
