Taco Bell basically changed history when first launching the Quesarito in 2014—the idea that a quesadilla could serve as a burrito’s wrapper went viral, becoming a hotter topic than Taco Bell’s Diablo sauce. Now, the cheesy rolled burrito will be dearly departing Taco Bells nationwide, just shy of a decade-long run. Fans are unsurprisingly shocked and disappointed to say farewell to the once-hyped menu item. Here’s the latest:
What Is The Quesarito?
A hybrid between burrito and quesadilla, the Quesarito is exactly as its name implies. Half quesadilla. Half burrito. The quesadilla rolls up seasoned beef, chipotle sauce, nacho cheese sauce, seasoned rice, and reduced-fat sour cream into its cheesy tortilla.
Fans Say Losing The Quesarito Is Worse Than Losing McDonald's Snack Wrap
Fans are understandably up in arms about the Quesarito's departure. Considering the Quesarito has been around for years, it's considered a bit of a legend. One fan even said that the loss "might hurt more" than when McDonald's discontinued the snack wrap.
McDonald's Snack Wraps were discontinued in 2016, which has since resulted in an explosive reaction amongst fans who are still petitioning for the double-arched chain to add it back on the menu. Wendy's recently released its own rendition to rival the discontinued foe, but only time will tell if it can stand up to the former legend.
Now, Taco Bell could face a similar reaction by dropping the Quesarito unless they decide to bring it back. They could ignore the pleas like McDonald's has done over the years, but it might result in heavy backlash.

Over the loss of the Quesarito, another fan on Twitter wrote, "Frankly, this feels like a hate crime targeted at me specifically and I'm not gonna stand for it." Someone else replied, "WHAT? NOT THE QUESARITO THAT'S LIKE THE ENTIRE REASON I GET TACO BELL." Another added, "There's literally no reason to go to Taco Bell anymore."
I recently found out that taco bell is permanently taking the quesarito off the menu and quite frankly this feels like a hate crime targeted at me specifically and i'm not gonna stand for it

Why Is Taco Bell Discontinuing The Quesarito?
Taco Bell didn't officially disclose why it was removing the Quesarito but implied its removal was to make room for new items, like the Bacon Club Chalupa and Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito. Yet neither item is exactly new.
The club sandwich-inspired chalupa has come and gone on the menu since 1999, and the Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito debuted during the holidays this year.
The burrito must have been popular though, since its back after just a few months. The burrito contains a double portion of marinated steak, nacho cheese sauce, rice, fiesta strips, chipotle sauce, and sour cream.
How Long Do I Have Left To Order Taco Bell's Quesarito?
The good news is that the Quesarito isn't gone yet—customers will have until April 19 to order the inventive burrito. But, time is the enemy, so you'll want to plan a Taco Bell run before it's gone for good.
