Taco Bell, often known for its fast food indulgences, also offers surprising high-protein meal options that can support weight loss goals. Choosing high-protein items from Taco Bell can help you feel fuller for longer, reduce cravings, and support muscle maintenance, all of which are important for effective weight management.

Josh New, a fat loss dietitian who has over 265K followers on the app, recently shared a Taco Bell menu hack that’s only 260 calories each and 23 grams of protein.

Taco Bell Menu Hack That’s High In Protein And Low Calorie

New starts by noting that with numerous Taco Bell locations nationwide, finding a healthy menu option can be a game-changer with a bit of planning and consideration.

With that, New mentions that by using the nutrition calculator on the chain’s website, his preferred healthy order is two soft tacos with extra grilled chicken, extra cheese, and light refried beans and pico de gallo. “Each of these tacos are only 260 calories with 23 grams of protein, 21 grams of carbs, and only 9 grams of fat,” he says. He also adds a packet of sauce to his tacos for extra flavor.

After he takes a bite, he raves, “Tell me this isn’t fire.” And if it isn’t, recommends to add more of Taco Bell’s hot sauce.

Benefits For Weight Loss

This Taco Bell order is considered healthy for weight loss for several reasons. Each taco contains 23 grams of protein, which helps build and maintain muscle mass. Protein also increases satiety, reducing hunger and helping to control overall calorie intake. With each taco being only 260 calories, the meal is relatively low in calories, which supports a calorie deficit—a key factor in weight loss.

Including extra grilled chicken, light refried beans, and pico de gallo adds additional nutrients and fiber, which can help with digestion and overall health.
