In a press release, the chain announced these changes, which will be implemented in August.

The statement explained, "Beginning August 13, we will be simplifying our menu to streamline operations. This evolved menu approach comes after months of analyzing the new way we are running our restaurants. With safety top of mind, we want to ensure an easy and fast ordering experience for our guests and team members."

In total, Taco Bell is eliminating 13 items from its menu: Grilled Steak Soft Taco, 7-Layer Burrito, Nachos Supreme, Beefy Fritos Burrito, Spicy Tostada, Triple Layer Nachos, Spicy Potato Soft Taco, Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes, Cheesy Potato Loaded Griller, Beefy Nacho Loaded Griller, Chips and Dips, and Mini Skillet Bowl.

Customers are definitely upset about these menu changes, and are especially disappointed that the chain has suspended all of their potato dishes.

Plus, Taco Bell's famous Quesarito looks like it might also be on the way out.

The press release said, "While the Quesarito may be removed from our menuboards, there is no need to say goodbye. You can still order the Quesarito digitally via our website or on our app."

Taco Bell is hoping that these menu changes will give the chain room to experiment with new menu items and even expand their plant-based options.

The statement continues on an encouraging note, "And while change is hard, a simplified menu and innovation process will leave room for new fan favorites, continued progress in categories such as plant-based diets, and even opportunities for the return of some classics on a limited time basis."
