Taco Bell tests $3 Steak Soft Taco
If you've been missing the OG Steak Soft Taco from Taco Bell ever since it was discontinued years ago (around the time breakfast hit the menu in 2014), we've got good news. The fast food chain is currently testing a Steak Soft Taco at selection locations in Phoenix, Arizona and Bakersfield, California.
This new offering is complete with marinated, grilled steak, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and delicious Avocado Ranch sauce. It's being tested as part of Taco Bell's beloved cravings menu, which also features favorites like the Spicy Potato Soft Taco and the Chipotle Ranch Chicken Burrito.
Some people on Reddit pointed out that it's possible to get a Steak Soft Taco by ordering a Spicy Potato Soft Taco, sub steak, for just $2.90. However, as one comment notes, "You're missing the tomatoes and have a different sauce by doing that (spicy potato uses chipotle sauce, while this has avocado ranch sauce)." And let's be honest: we need that avocado ranch.
Many are excited by the prospect of this new taco. "I’d be all over this," one person wrote. "Especially if I can swap for guacamole."
However, one common complaint is the price of this menu item. "By $3 they mean $3.99 aka $4," said one Redditor. Taco Bell has been criticized a lot for their rising prices over the past few years, with many customers calling the brand out for "shrinkflation." But what do you think? Will this tasty taco be worth the price if it ever hits menus everywhere? Let us know in the comments!
In the meantime, there's good news for Taco Bell fans across the nation, as the previously tested Three-Cheese Chicken Flatbread hits menus everywhere on Jan. 11—and it sounds mouthwateringly good.
