There’s a new $5 meal in town, and it’s perfect for taco lovers.
Once seen as a great spot for affordable and crave-worthy fast food, Taco Bell has recently found itself as a target of criticism—alongside other fast-food giants—due to rising prices. Recently, Taco Bell even revamped its Cravings Menu with higher priced items. However, the company is now making a move that may help them reclaim their status as a go-to destination for wallet-friendly meals with the launch of a new $5 Taco Discovery Box.
$5 Taco Discovery Box at Taco Bell
Seemingly recognizing the need to offer greater value to its customer base (and squash the shrinkflation complaints), Taco Bell has rolled out the $5 Taco Discovery Box.
Available exclusively on Tuesdays—fondly known as Taco Tuesday—from April 23 through June 4, 2024, the $5 Taco Discovery Box contains a trio of beloved tacos: the all-new Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco, priced at $2.99 when purchased individually, alongside the crunchy taco and the ever-popular Doritos Locos Taco, valued at $1.79 and $2.59, respectively. Each box also includes a fountain drink to wash it all down.
Adding a dash of star power to the promotion, Taco Bell has enlisted the talents of basketball icon LeBron James and comedian Jason Sudeikis. "To celebrate the arrival of the $5 Taco Discovery Box, iconic Taco Tuesday aficionados, LeBron James and Jason Sudeikis star alongside iconic classic tacos and the new Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco in a sitcom-inspired campaign, following the adventures of two friends trying entirely new things on Tuesdays," the brand announced.
While it may not quite replace the Dollar Cravings-shaped hole in our heart, we're certainly not opposed to a $5 meal. We'll be stopping by Taco Bell next Tuesday to give it a try—will you?
