Although everyone else may be hopping on the pumpkin spice train (including Wendy’s!), Taco Bell is going in a different direction; their menu just got a little fruitier. Alongside their new Strawberry Twists, the chain recently brought back the Wild Strawberry Freeze and introduced a brand-new Wild Strawberry Creme Delight Freeze. I tried this new Freeze for myself, and I think it’s their best drink since the beloved Fruitista Freeze, which was discontinued a decade ago.
Back in the day, when Taco Bell’s Fruitista Freeze was still a thing, I was obsessed. As a tween, I used to beg my mom (likely several times a week) to stop at the drive-thru so I could get my fix. There’s been a Strawberry Mango Frutista Freeze-shaped hole in my heart ever since this beverage was discontinued. I’m going to be honest: While I love a good old slushy, I don’t love Baja Blast, and Blue Raspberry doesn’t quite do it for me, either. So when I heard there was a new strawberry-flavored Freeze in town, I knew I had to give it a try. And it was a delight indeed!
What does Taco Bell's Wild Strawberry Creme Delight Taste Like?
Taco Bell's Wild Strawberry Creme Delight Freeze is exactly what it sounds like: it's a Wild Strawberry Freeze with added swirls of vanilla creamer. If you're a fan of berries and cream, you're going to like this one. The flavors go together perfectly.
When trying to pinpoint what this combination tasted like, I first thought of a good old Cream Cheese & Strawberry Toaster Strudel. But then it came to me: This stuff tastes exactly Strawberry Creme Savers in drink form. So tasty!

The only problem I had with this drink is that it was (unsurprisingly) extremely sweet—too sweet for me to finish the whole thing. After drinking about a third of it, I shared the rest with a friend, and we handled the blood sugar spike with grace. But this is, of course, a personal preference. If you have a serious sweet tooth and aren't afraid of the consequences, all of the sugar may not be a problem for you at all.
My final verdict on the Wild Strawberry Creme Delight Freeze is that, despite being a little too sweet for me, it's one of the tastiest drinks Taco Bell has had on their menu in years. Strawberry and cream really go hand in hand—it's simple science. However, I am still longing for the days of Fruitista Freezes. I can only hope they make a comeback, just like the Mexican Pizza did... can we get a petition going?
