Target is making some huge changes ahead of the holiday season, prioritizing investing in their employees.

The company recently announced that they would be awarding their employees a $200 bonus ahead of the holiday season as a way to thank them for working so hard to serve Target customers during the pandemic.

According to Target's press release, "To continue showing our thanks for their extraordinary performance during unprecedented times, Target is awarding more than 350,000 frontline team members another $200 bonus."

"This bonus will go to all eligible hourly team members in stores and distribution centers—including seasonal hires—plus hourly team members who support Target’s guest and team member contact centers," the statement continues.

Melissa Kremer, Target’s chief HR officer, explained, "With 2020's many twists and turns, it's quickly shaping up to be a holiday season like no other. But one thing hasn't changed: our Target team members are pulling out all the stops to make every guest's shopping experience safe, easy and full of joy."

She continued, "In a year like no other, I'm proud of what this team has accomplished and grateful for the care and connection they've provided our guests and communities. Target's success this year is a direct result of our team members turning our purpose into action and meeting our guests' changing needs day after day."

Target is definitely trying to prioritize their team members during this time, investing $70 million in their employees for the holidays.

They've also raised the minimum starting wage to $15 per hour.
