All of Target’s employees will make at least $15 an hour starting July 5!
The company just announced that they will be raising their minimum wage for all hourly employees–and they will do so a month before the deadline! This is huge.

Employees will also receive a one-time bonus of $200 as acknowledgement for their team effort during the novel coronavirus outbreak. Wow--the company is giving us so many reasons to love them (even more than we already do).
If you remember, Target had previously pledged to raise its minimum wage for workers to $15 by the end of 2020. In 2017 they said they would rase the rate from $10 to $15 over three years. That makes a huge difference for many workers!

And this isn't the first time the retailer has raised employee pay in recent history. During COVID-19, they raised employees wages by $2 for their frontline team members.
(They also made changes such as adding senior hours to keep guests safe during the pandemic.)

The bonuses will be paid out at the end of the month and the raises will be applied to all workers at all locations (that's nearly 350,000 employees and 1,900 stores) on July 15.
Additionally the company extended benefits it offered during the pandemic, such as free backup care for employees’ children, free mental health counseling and 30-day paid leave for employees at higher risk.
