Sad news for anyone in the New York City area who was looking forward to the new Target location in Columbus Circle–the opening has been delayed due to COVID-19!
A website called "I Love The Upper West Side" just did some internet sleuthing and can confirm that the much-anticipated UWS location is not opening on time. We are so bummed!

The site points out that if you search for "Target 1865 Broadway," results indicate that the opening date is July 19th --but when they called the company's press department to confirm that date, they learned that it has been pushed back to this fall.
Another local blog, West Side Rag, confirmed the news and shared a statement from the rep: “As external circumstances continue to evolve, there will naturally be some delays and shifts. As a result, our Columbus Circle Target store, located at 61st Street and Broadway, is planned to open later this fall.” Say it ain't so!

The store was to be located between 61st and 62nd streets, measuring a whopping 34,000 square feet and three-floors high. Aka, it's going to be a good one (when it finally opens!).
The store was announced in late 2018, and the company already held a job fair last year to fill the 160 expected employment spots!
