Target Just Made A Huge Change To Its Return Policy & Customers Are Freaking Out

Target, along with fellow retailers Walmart and Amazon, has confirmed that they’re offering some shoppers the opportunity to keep or donate items that they wish to return.

That’s right, you might not have to send back those unwanted items–even after you’ve received a full refund. WHAT is happening!

A representative for the Minneapolis-based company recently confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that the option was offered in "limited circumstances" where the items were "unlikely to be resold." Wow, so fascinating!

The spokeswoman told the paper that the company gives customers refunds then encourages them to donate or keep the item.

Business Insider reported on the news, asserting that these big name retailers told shoppers to keep what they back, even if and when a full refund for the item had been issues.

It was actually cheaper for the retailers to refund the purchase price and let customers keep or donate the products, than to pay for return shipping on items that they wouldn't be able to re-sell.

"For inexpensive items or large ones that would incur hefty shipping fees, it is often cheaper to refund the purchase price and let customers keep the products," the WSJ wrote.
