Much to the dismay of fans, Taylor Swift just announced the final show dates of her record-breaking global tour, The Eras Tour, which involved performing marathon concerts lasting over three hours, approximately 150 times across two years.

The “Down Bad” singer, 34, made the announcement this week during her June 13th concert in Liverpool, just before treating the audience to a ten-minute live extended version of “All Too Well.”

“I think a lot of people are like, well, how are you going to celebrate the 100th show?” Swift said to the cheering concertgoers. The Grammy winner added: “And for me, the celebration of the 100th show for me means this is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is gonna end in December. Like, that’s it.”

Fans On X React To Taylor Swift's Announcement About The Final 'Eras Tour' Shows In December

The Tortured Poets Department songwriter also referred to her sixth concert tour as "exhausting, all-encompassing, but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life." Swift also explained that her final show, which will take place on December 8th in Vancouver, "feels like so far away from now."

The "Cruel Summer" hitmaker added: "But then again, it feels like we just played our first show on this tour. Because you have made this so much fun for us that we wanted to do a hundred shows, 150-something shows that we have on the whole tour."

Fans headed to social media, with many on X (formerly Twitter) expressing that they felt "so devastated" to learn that the tour would be ending later this year.

"Thinking about the impact of the eras tour and how the tour is gonna end in december but the impact it had will never go away i love this tour so much," one fan tweeted as another who indicated they "never got to see" Swift perform live wrote that they were "not ready" for the tour to conclude.

"Why did taylor swift have to come out and say that the eras tour is gonna end like she could’ve just thought it in her head I DIDNT WANT TO HEAR IT I WANT TO LIVE IN DELUSION," someone else quipped as one other replied: "i actually dont think i can comprehend the fact that the eras tour is going to end, like forever."

Other Swifties explained just how much the tour (that spawned a hit concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour), meant to them: "this tour has been one of the most amazing things in my life and i’ll forever be thankful for all the memories & everything it’s brought me."

During her recent Liverpool show, Swift also revealed that "this tour has really become my entire life." She went on: "it’s taken over everything. I think I once had hobbies, but I don’t know what they were anymore. Because all I do when I’m not on stage is, like, sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mashups and think about what you might want to hear. So when I’m not on the stage, I’m dreaming about being back on the stage with you guys."

Swift then thanked her fans and said: "I appreciate every single ounce of effort that you put in to be with us." Swift's massive fanbase members are well aware of the remarkable achievements she has made while travelling the world for her Eras Tour. She has gone above and beyond by releasing the re-recordings of two of her older albums last year, including 2010's Speak Now and 2014's 1989, under the name of (Taylor's Version).

In addition, the "I Can Do It With A Broken Heart" artist also released the impressive 31-track album, The Tortured Poets Department back in April, and let's not forget the aforementioned concert film that broke records last year, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.

Swift has also made history by winning the Album of the Year Grammy for the fourth time back in February.

All in all, Swift has achieved so much and yet, she still manages to keep us on the edge of our seats with her surprises, something that is signature to her. With all this already accomplished, one can only imagine surprises Swift has up her sleeve. Long Live the Eras Tour.
