Taylor Swift rocked a low-cut, long-sleeved black top and high-waisted, bedazzled denim for her first public appearance following her breakup from longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn. The Grammy winner, 33, was spotted heading to dinner in New York City with her frequent musical collaborator Jack Antonoff and his fiancée, actress Margaret Qualley.

Amid her record-breaking Eras Tour, the “Anti-Hero” singer also recently split from Alwyn, 33, after six years together, as reported by insiders and multiple outlets this week. Neither the “Bejeweled” songwriter or Conversations with Friends actor have officially confirmed or denied this, but regardless, Swift’s street style is effortlessly chic as per usual.

Taylor Swift & Joe Alwyn’s Rumored Breakup: What We Know So Far

Last week, millions of Swifties were shocked as reports began emerging online that Swift and Alwyn had called it quits. The pop star had been somewhat open with fans about her relationship with the Favourite star, since they were first romantically linked in 2016.

Over the years, this meant dropping little Easter eggs that suggested her songs were about him, gushing over him in her Netflix documentary Miss Americana, and she even recently dished that the two had written music together during the pandemic. (We’re not crying, you’re crying!)

So, the ultimate question remains— why did the two allegedly split? An insider supposedly sat down with Entertainment Tonight this week, and said that “Taylor and Joe are in totally different places in their lives right now.”

They added, “It was more of Taylor’s decision to break up, but both of them realized that they weren’t completely right for one another. They had been together for such a long time and were spending so much time together, but their personalities were just too different. Joe is more introverted, shy and quiet.”

The duo allegedly called it off in March, just as Swift headed on tour, which meant there would be a lot of distance between them. "She's very focused on touring and her career right now," the source added. "Taylor has nothing but respect for Joe and really loved and enjoyed all the time and memories she shared with him. They had a deep connection and she really appreciated that. She hopes they can be friendly in the future."

The outlet reportedly learned that the breakup was amicable and "it was not dramatic." A source also shared that "the relationship had just run its course. It's why [Alwyn] hasn't been spotted at any shows." Swift's Eras Tour began on March 17th in Glendale, Arizona. Two weeks later, during her Arlington, Texas tour stop, Swift seemingly hinted at the split with a notable setlist change.

Rather than performing "Invisible String" — which fans believe is a love song about her relationship with Alwyn, she performed "The 1," which details a breakup. Both songs are from her 2020 album, Folklore, which Alwyn helped co-write several tracks for.
