Taylor Swift undoubtedly stole the spotlight at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), and she didn’t forget to take a moment to express her gratitude to her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
The Grammy awardee, 34, notably clinched the coveted Moon Person trophy for Video of the Year, thanks to her blockbuster collab with Post Malone on “Fortnight.”
Despite the NFL athlete’s absence from the glittering affair on September 11th, Swift ensured that the Kansas City Chiefs player, also 34, received a touching mention in her acceptance speech, sending fans into a frenzy.

Taylor Swift Calls Travis Kelce Her ‘Boyfriend’ For The First Time Ever In Heartfelt VMAs Acceptance Speech
During her speech, the “Down Bad” singer shared that after every take of the “Fortnight” music video shoot, she could hear enthusiastic cheers echoing across the studio—whistles of encouragement that she soon discovered were coming from Kelce. Swift, who donned an edgy punk plaid yellow ensemble from Dior, said: “That one person was my boyfriend Travis.” The “Cruel Summer” hitmaker sweetly gushed: “Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic.”
Naturally, Swifties were thrilled by the "Anti-Hero" songwriter's open affection for her partner (who she has been linked to since September 2023), eagerly sharing their delight on X (formerly known as Twitter).
"If Taylor Swift had settled at any point in her life, she wouldn't have found the magic, fun, and happiness she's always deserved. And if she didn't hold onto the belief that writing your pain could bring good, Travis Kelce wouldn't have made a bracelet," one fan recently tweeted.
Another added: "It's clear she values Travis Kelce's support and presence in her life." Someone else wrote: "crying, screaming, throwing up" as an additional user noted: "Wow, what a way to end the night! Taylor’s shoutout to Travis was so sweet. And ‘Fortnight’ is such a jam—props to everyone involved!"
At the 2024 VMAs, Swift's remarkable evening extended far beyond her Video of the Year win. Garnering 12 nominations, the "Lover" artist snagged a whopping seven awards, surpassing Beyoncé's previous record with a total of 30 VMA victories, thus tying for the most wins overall. Swift's accolades also included Song of the Summer for "Fortnight," Best Pop, and Artist of the Year, among others, as reported by Newsweek.
Swift garnered significant attention on social media when she took to IG on September 10th, to publicly endorse Kamala Harris for president, following the initial debate between Harris, 59, and former President Donald Trump.
During her speech, Swift opted to steer clear of political discussions. Instead, she chose to pay tribute to the victims of 9/11, expressing that they had been on her mind.
"Everyone who lost a loved one and everyone that we lost, and that is the most important thing about today, and everything that happens tonight falls behind that," she stressed.
Swift's chic outfit for the ceremony featured a high-low skirt, a tight corset bodice, black shorts, and a coordinating yellow and black choker. She completed the look with over-the-knee leather boots and criss-cross leather gloves.
