Taylor Swift just graced the cover of Rolling Stone rocking some seriously stunning new hair. The 30-year-old songstress switched up her classic platinum locks for the shoot, posing next to Sir Paul McCartney with a fresh, darker hair color to match her neutral toned outfit.
The stylish star has been known to switch up her look, from icy shag to pastel pink tips, but this is the first time in five years that Swift has opted for a darker root. The color suits her, fitting both the changing of the seasons and her stylish, menswear inspired button-down top, brown cinch-waist cargo pants and chunky combat boots.

The casual fit and vibe of the shoot are very much in line with her most recent studio album, Folklore, which, to the delight of Swifties, she surprise dropped in the middle of quarantine. The collection is her most mellow music to date, focusing on storytelling and soothing melodies to ease our pandemic-sticken nerves.
In the magazine, the superstar speaks with musical icon Sir Paul McCartney for Rolling Stone’s Musicians on Musicians series. The pair sat down in London to discuss the year, songwriting, and album production in quarantine for the special issue which was released on November 13. Swift even arrived at the interview clad in clothes designed by Sir Paul’s daughter, Stella McCartney!
The first time Swift made the switch to dark hair was on the cover of Wonderland magazine in 2014, where she rocked a stunningly androgynous look with slicked-back locks and thick brows for the moody shoot. In her “Wildest Dreams” music video, which premiered in 2015, Swift went full brunette to play her movie star alter ego, proving she’s a jack of all trades when it comes to pulling off new looks.
Swift is a known style icon, and her light brunette locks on the cover of Rolling Stone are no exception. With half of our year spent inside, drastic hair changes have become ever popular across the internet as people attempt to add a little spice to their lives. At least this year brought us new T Swift music and the perfect hair inspo pics to show our stylist.
