Taylor Swift has been showing off her noteworthy street style in New York City between Eras Tour stops. Just last month, Taylor sported a black knit maxi dress and chunky buckled sandals that were perfect for the summer heat.
Another chic outfit that the pop star wore out in New York City was the perfect mix of the preppy aesthetic and casual street style. One Monday, June 26th, she stepped out a schoolgirl-chic ensemble which consisted of a striped boyfriend button down shirt, a pleated mini skirt, a baseball cap, and chunky oxfords with frilly socks. The stylish outing came after the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter finished performing in Minneapolis as part of her Eras Tour.
Taylor Swift Is Casual-Preppy In A Striped Button Down Shirt And Pleated Mini Skirt
Taylor, who recently released her re-recorded album Speak Now (Taylor's Version), was spotted heading into the studios in an effortlessly chic, casually-preppy outfit. The top was an oversize white button-up with blue and green stripes by the Row. She left the shirt, which was oversized and slouchy, untucked.
The "Enchanted" singer's baby blue skirt was actually a pleated mini skort by Free People. Although it looked like it was made of denim, like the skirt she wore the next day, the pleated mini was actually made out of a lightweight cotton fabric. The shirt was a whopping $1,817 while the skirt was $78.
The black chunky oxfords she wore on her feet were lace-ups by Malone Souliers (which retail for $1,031). The singer paired them with frilly off-white socks for a soft, feminine touch. The socks also had a cute sewn in flower detail on the ankle. Taylor isn't a stranger to lace-up oxfords. Especially in in the early 2010s, this preppy footwear has been a staple in the singer's wardrobe.
The "Cowboy Like Me" singer accessorized her outfit even further with a gray leather shoulder bag with gold embellishments, Le Petit Patou, by Patou ($795) and a simple navy blue baseball cap. As for jewelry, Taylor wore chunky, silver rings, a gold necklace with a "Give You the Moon Charm" from Catbird's collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers (Taylor's close friend and tour buddy), and a pair of big gold hoop earrings.
The charm cost $398 while the chain, which was the Swimming Pool Chain also from Catbird, was $498. To finish off the look, Taylor went for her signature glam with a bright red lip, rosy cheeks, full lashes, and a dark cat eye. She styled her blonde hair down in messy waves, hidden beneath the dark blue hat.
Despite rumors that Taylor and her ex-boyfriend Matty Healy are rekindling their romance, insiders stress that this can't be further from the truth. Sources close to the "Cruel Summer" singer are apparently telling PEOPLE that she and The 1975 frontman are not even talking to eachother anymore. An insider revealed to the outlet, "They are absolutely not together and aren't even in contact anymore. She is enjoying being single and has been spending time in the studio and hanging out with friends in New York City. This is all B.S."
Fan Comments
Fan account, Taylor Swift Style shared the chic look to Instagram. The "Anti-Hero" singer's fans were divided on the outfit. Some commenters really disliked the fit, "The hat is really throwing this fit off for me," one fan wrote, while another commented, "It is an outfit she put on," and another quipped, "It is giving train conductor."
