Taylor Swift and Matty Healy's Rumored Romance Is Reportedly Over
"They were never boyfriend-girlfriend or exclusive and were always just having fun," another source supposedly told the outlet. "There is no drama, and who knows what could happen again? It was a good time and ran its course."
The 33-year-old "Anti-Hero" singer and 34-year-old rocker were longtime friends since 2014, and were linked again (this time romantically) last month. Healy notably attended three of Swift’s Eras Tour shows in Nashville earlier last month, as seen in viral fan-shot footage.
After Healy and his 1975 bandmates performed a show in Manila, Philippines on May 4th, he then flew to the Tennessee city reportedly just for Swift's three-date stop at the Nissan Stadium. During this time, the musician also came onstage and joined Swift’s opener Phoebe Bridgers, accompanying her on guitar.
Swift’s close friends like Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldridge were seen in the VIP area of her recent concerts, and Healy mingled with them there. Additionally, the "Cornelia Street" singer’s father, Scott Swift, was photographed with Healy in the VIP area of her Lincoln Financial Field show in Philadelphia soon after.
In the past few weeks, the "Bewjeweled" hitmaker and "About You" singer were also seen leaving Electric Lady Studios in New York City together and kissing at the exclusive, members-only club Zero Bond.
According to another insider that spoke with People Magazine, "Taylor is doing great — her focus right now is her tour. Since Matty is touring too, they won't be able to see each other at all." The source added, "They have been friends for years and decided to just go back to being friends. Nothing complicated happened. It's just life."
One other reportedly dished to the publication that the two "still care for one another but they are in the middle of world tours so are both incredibly busy. They've been friends for years and are still friends." Healy has a controversial past, and many of Swift's fans continue to share clips of him making insensitive comments or problematic statements in response to his rumored relationship with her.
Regarding this, an insider said to the magazine, "He likes to provoke a response out of people. She's a grown woman more than capable of forming her own opinions about people," They added, "No one forces her into anything, especially not these days. She's on top of the world."
Why Did Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn Break Up?
Before becoming seemingly involved with Healy, Swift dated Conversations with Friends actor Joe Alwyn from 2016 to 2023. The "Karma" singer-songwriter had been somewhat open with fans about her relationship with the Favourite star over the years.
This meant dropping little Easter eggs that suggested her songs were about him, gushing over him in her Netflix documentary Miss Americana, and she even recently dished that the two had written music together during the pandemic. Naturally, many fans were in shock following reports of their breakup in early April.
Two months ago, a source told Entertainment Tonight that "Taylor and Joe are in totally different places in their lives right now." They went on, "It was more of Taylor’s decision to break up, but both of them realized that they weren’t completely right for one another. They had been together for such a long time and were spending so much time together, but their personalities were just too different. Joe is more introverted, shy and quiet."
The longtime couple called it off in March, according to the insider, just as Swift headed on tour. This meant that there would be a lot of distance between them. "She's very focused on touring and her career right now," the source added.
Since then, fans have theorized that Swift's new song "You're Losing Me" is about Alwyn, and think that videos of her crying on stage during recent Eras Tour shows are related to their split.
