Taylor Swift may have gotten deserved recognition for her musical and lyrical talents at the Nashville Songwriter Awards this week, but we want to praise her stunning style, too! The “cardigan” hitmaker, 32, donned a shimmering, curve-hugging black gown to the historic Ryman Auditorium-held event, and her sparkle-adorned dress featured a high neckline, one sleeve, an ab-baring cut-out and a daring high slit.

To complete her ensemble, Swift wore her long, blonde tresses into an elegant low ponytail, brushing her signature bangs to the front and dazzling up her look with silver dangly earrings by Rahaminov Diamonds and the shiny ’14K Baguette Diamond Open Wrap’ ring by Anne Sisteron. To top it all off, the “Cruel Summer” songwriter rocked classic red lipstick, a blended smokey eye and radiant blush.

In her acceptance speech, Swift thanked her team and fans before explaining to the audience that she categorizes her lyrics in the way other artists categorize musical genres. The musician then articulately broke her lyrics down into three categories: ‘quill’ (using “ivy” off evermore as an example), ‘fountain pen lyrics’ (“All Too Well” off Red) and ‘glitter gel pen style’ (“Shake It Off” from 1989). She also surprised Swifties with a live, acoustic and emotional rendition of the beloved ballad, “All Too Well (10-Minute Version).”

Swift said to viewers as she sweetly recalled, “Twenty years ago, I wrote my first song. I used to dream about one day getting to bounce around the different musical worlds of my various sonic influences, and change up the production of my albums.” After recognizing her accomplishments in the worlds of country and pop music, she concluded her message, “To be honored by you means more than any genre of my lyrics could ever say.”

The Midnights artist further detailed how much the award and the city of Nashville meant to her in an Instagram post for her 224 million followers. Along with a photo of her strumming her guitar on stage, she wrote, “wow… it felt great to play in Nashville last night.” She added, “Thank you @nsaiofficial and @theryman, @catherinepowell for taking this photo, and all the fans who showed up and screamed the words to all ten minutes of All Too Well.” Naturally, Swift’s post garnered well over 1 million likes as fans (both those who attended the event and those who watched at home) continue to commend her performance online and congratulate her big win.
