The King is reportedly considering taking inspiration from the King Edward VIII abdication crisis and “exiling” Prince Harry in order to “protect the crown.”

According to reports, Prince Harry could very well be facing the same fate as King Edward VIII (who famously abdicated the throne in 1936 after his decision to marry American divorcée Wallis Warfield Simpson was condemned, and then lived the rest of his life in exile in France) if tensions within the royal family continue to rise, which will most likely be the case if he goes ahead with releasing his $25M bombshell memoir.

"The royals handled the abdication crisis by exiling Edward which meant he and Wallis ultimately came to seem like unimportant, misguided, disloyal, and even treacherous individuals to almost the entirety of the British people. It was a masterful operation in the service of which the Queen Mother, in particular, worked tirelessly," an insider told The Daily Beast.

"The same thing is already happening with Harry and Meghan, and will only gather pace over the next few years under the rule of King Charles. And of course, a wayward second son is far less of an existential threat to the fabric of the monarchy than a wayward king," the source added.

Royal experts have hinted that the real test will be at King Charles III's coronation, and where the Sussexes will be sitting during the ceremony will make it easier to determine just how the new King feels about his son and daughter-in-law. And royal experts are already predicting that Prince Harry and Meghan will not have a prominent role to play in the ceremony!

"Harry and Meghan will get an invite to the coronation, but they will be firmly seated in the cheap seats along with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, as they were at the funeral. That will be it," a royal insider, who allegedly used to work at Buckingham Palace, said. "Charles will be ruthless when it comes to protecting the crown, and that means keeping Harry and Meghan as far from the center of gravity as possible," they added.
