Celebrities are known for having very restrictive diets in order to keep their bodies red carpet ready. We already knew that A-listers avoided sweets and carbs to stay thin, but it turns out that they also steer clear of this popular drink in the morning—it’s sweetened almond milk!
Almond milk and weight loss have become synonymous in recent year, but experts say that dieters will only really start to see results once they eliminate unnecessary sugars from their diet, which explains why celebrities prefer unsweetened almond milk varieties.
“Almond milk and other nut milks are only good weight loss if they’re unsweetened and free of unhealthy sugars and additives,” explains New York-based nutritionist Regina Fazzini. “Make sure everything you’re eating and drinking is in its purest form—especially when it comes to almond milk.”
Celebrities like Megan Fox, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kourtney Kardashian are popular dairy-free diet advocates. Philip Goglia, nutritionist to stars like Kim Kardashian and Cara Delevingne, says that eliminating dairy is a smart move if those who are trying to lose weight.
“While many people consider dairy to be a protein, the body will utilize it first as lactose, or milk sugar," he tells TotalBeauty.com. “These sugars found are inflammatory, and can cause sugar sensitivities and digestive issues, like bloating and gas."
