According to Healthline, processed meats like hot dogs, pepperoni, bacon, and sausage can prematurely age the skin.

 

The article explains, "These meats are high in sodium, saturated fats, and sulfite, which can all dehydrate the skin and weaken collagen by causing inflammation."

If these processed meats are part of your diet and you're noticing wrinkles in your skin, swapping them out for other sources of protein--like chicken and turkey--is a smart way to combat signs of aging.

With that in mind, staying away from these meats by sticking to less processed forms of protein is a good idea to keep your skin looking its best.
