For the past few seasons, the lob has been at the tippy top of our favorite hair style list. This not-too-short, not-too-long style, which miraculously looks good on everyone, gave us new life. But, alas, as with all trends, it had a great run and is starting to slowly fade off into the distance.
You can still rock your lob because the only beauty rule worth following is to stay true to your own definition of beauty. But if you're in the mood for a change or want to find ways to update your beloved lob, here are some hair trends that will replace the lob in 2018.

Curtain Bangs
Give your lob the ultimate update with '60s-style curtain bangs. This new type of fringe, which has retro origins, is cut so that there's a split in the middle that frames your forehead and face instead of concealing your forehead. It looks great with all hair lengths, including the lob.
Go Shorter With A Blunt Bob
Whereas the lob was all about texture and uneven ends, the newest bob is blunt with a few long layers. Bangs are optional with this style.
Grown Out Pixie With Bangs
Another short hair look, this one falls somewhere between a bob and grown-out pixie (which was another uber popular style for a few years). Curtain bangs or a blunt bang give it extra oomph.
Long, Shaggy Hair
You knew it would make a comeback, right? After so many seasons of short hair and lobs, the long, shaggy style is creeping back into our universe. Texture is key here — have hair cut into long layers and play with variations of curls and waves and sea salt spray.
