If you are relying on night cream in your anti-aging skincare routine, it’s important to make sure that the ingredients you’re using are actually good for your skin.

Unfortunately, many skincare products use ingredients that do more harm than good, especially if you are relying on them for a more youthful appearance. Harsh ingredients that lead to dryness and irritation are commonly found in skincare products. And, with regular use, they can contribute to legitimate skin problems.

With that in mind, keep reading for the one night cream you should never use because it causes wrinkles and sagging skin.

According to plastic surgeon Dr. T.Y Steven Ipthere are a few ingredients you should definitely be avoiding in your skincare products, particularly if you want a more youthful appearance.

Specifically, Dr. Ip talks about the dangers of sulfates and methylparaben when it comes to your skin.

He explains, "Sulfates are the most common and talked about, and many people know to avoid these."

There's a good reason to avoid them. Ip continues, "They are harsh, corrosive, and drying and can be found in many popular shampoos, body washes and cleansers."

Sulfates are problematic for your skin for two main reasons, according to Ip.

"They can cause irritation and lead to increased dryness, which are two things you must avoid to help with aging," he says.

Another skincare ingredient to avoid? Methylparaben.

Dr. Ip says, "It is a chemical that tends to be used in many foundations, moisturizers, and even anti-aging treatments." However, it can have the opposite effect on your skin.
