Chamomile has been used as a natural remedy for inflammation, anxiety and insomnia. In regards to sleep, chamomile is considered a mild tranquilizer or sleep inducer. Thanks to an antioxidant called apigenin which is contain, the tea has a calming effect. But it's not the only one that experts swear by.
And yet another nighttime tea option comes courtesy of Rima Kleiner, MS, RD and blogger at Dish on Fish. "Chamomile, lavender and turmeric tea are all good, but if I have to choose just one I would say turmeric because this anti-inflammatory spice provides a big benefit bang... including helping to support immune, heart, brain and joint health," she explains.
