Fragrance

If you are using a shampoo with artificial fragrance, it's time to stop.

Artificial fragrances are a result of lots of chemicals that can irritate the scalp and lead to hair loss.

According to HuffPost, "More than 95 percent of the chemicals in synthetic fragrances are derived from petrochemicals. These chemicals include: benzene derivatives, aldehydes, phthalates, and a slew of other known toxins that are capable of causing cancer, birth defects, nervous-system disorders and allergies."

With that in mind, sticking to fragrance-free shampoos and avoiding chemicals can be an important part of keeping yourself healthy and your hair looking its best.

Irritants that can harm your scalp health can lead to hair loss. Additionally, since fragrances contain so many chemicals, they can weaken your hair--leading to breakage.
