For anyone on the go–commuters, sales people, travelers–having a portable charging option for your iPhone is a must. If you can’t be tethered to a wall charger, a portable or hand held device that can go with you is essential. But are there any downsides to using one of these charging devices over the USB to cube to outlet option? We investigated:

"There's no denying that wireless charging is a convenient way to charge your iPhone," Burton Kelso, The Technology Expert explains to us. "No messy cables. Just plop your phone on the wireless charger and your phone charges. Greatest thing since sliced bread, right? Yes and No."
"The downside to wireless charging it will shorten the life of your battery." Say it ain't so!
So, how can you use a wireless charger AND keep the battery life of your phone? "To get a longer life out of your iPhone battery, alternate between traditional charging and wireless charging and never just exclusively use a wireless iPhone charger."
